Saptarasa—meaning ‘seven essences’ in Sanskrit—is Fute’s magnum opus of masala chai, a meticulously balanced composition of seven hand-sourced Indian spices woven through estate-grown Assam black tea. This is not a shortcut to comfort — it is a considered journey through India’s most beloved spice tradition. Each spice is sourced directly from Indian farms known for provenance and purity. How It All Began

Assam black tea. Cardamom, ginger, cloves, black pepper, fennel, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Our first blend — made the same way it has always been made, in the same proportions, from the same gardens, because some things do not need improving. Seven is not an arbitrary number. Each spice earns its place. The cardamom lifts. The ginger warms. The cloves deepen. The pepper sharpens. The fennel softens. The cinnamon binds. The nutmeg — you notice it last, and then you cannot stop noticing it. Inspired by the Muga silk saree of Assam — produced from the semi-cultivated silkworm Antheraea assamensis, native to these very valleys.
