If you grew up in an Indian household, you know that “chai” isn’t just a drink.
It’s the steam fogging up your glasses while you gossip with a cousin. It’s that heavy, sweet aroma that whispers, “Everything is going to be okay.” For me, that smell isn’t just a memory—it’s my DNA.
My family’s company, Auguri, has been rooted in the soil of Assam for over 30 years. I didn’t see tea as a “product” on a shelf. I saw it as the calloused hands and resilient spirits of the women pluckers.
But I noticed a heartbreaking pattern: The most incredible, vibrant tea was always exported to distant countries. Meanwhile, the people who grow it—and the people who love it most—are often left with “tea dust”: the stale, leftover scraps sold in cardboard boxes at the supermarket. Most people don’t realize that the chai in their pantry has often sat in a dark, humid warehouse for over a year before it ever reaches a mug.
I created Fute to break that cycle. No warehouses. No middlemen. Just the shortest distance between our family’s farm and your favorite mug.
Because we own the gardens in Assam, we handle every step. We take our fresh CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl) tea and blend it immediately with real, hand-crushed spices. When you open a tin of Fute Chai, you aren’t smelling a distribution center; you’re smelling the actual air of the Assam.
Our packaging is inspired by the intricate patterns of a saree, a tribute to the women tea pluckers who make our legacy possible. It’s a reminder of the grace and strength behind every leaf.
We’ve curated our collection to match the rhythm of your day:
| Blend | The Feeling |
|---|---|
| Cardamom or Ginger | Like a long phone call with an old friend. Pure comfort. |
| Golden Spice / Dusk Detox | My personal go-to for slowing down and healing after a long day. |

I invite you to taste the difference that “producer-owned” makes. This isn’t just a business for us; it’s our family’s heritage. We’ve spent 30 years perfecting the harvest, and we’d be honored to be a part of your morning ritual.
